How does Ironcore backup work?
The Ironcore Backup Manager is loaded onto the device you want to backup. You define what you wish to backup and set this to a schedule. Your information is encrypted and then sent to ‘The core’ and for extra protection ‘The core’ is mirrored to another geographical location.
How secure is my data?
Extremely – before it leaves your internet connection it is compressed and encrypted then transported in an encrypted tunnel. Lastly it is stored in ‘The core’ which boasts an outstanding level of security, ranging from figure print access to bomb proof walls. The encryption level is stronger than most Banking transactions and can only be decrypted by your private key.
How much space do I require?
Your data is compressed, so you may have 10GB of data (Depending on what this data is) it can compress down to less than half. Our free month’s trial will indicate how much space you will require.
I am not on Broadband, how fast does my connection need to be?
On your first backup, Ironcore will backup all you data. On subsequent backups only the changes will be backed up. So a fast internet connection is not required. If you feel you have too much data to backup over the internet – we provide a service to backup your data onto removable storage and place it directly onto our storage servers. On you next scheduled backup only the changes will be sent over the internet.
How many times a day can I backup my information?
As many times a day as you like, at no extra cost - we encourage backing up your data at least twice a day. At mid day and after working hours, this provides good business continuity in the event of a disaster.
Can I backup E-Mails, Databases, etc.?
Yes Ironcore can backup most e-mail systems and databases, please contact us for more details
How do I restore a file or all of my data?
There are multiple ways to restore a file. Primarily by logging into your account on the Ironcore website, you can choose individual files, folders or all your data to restore. If you are a ‘Business’ or ‘Enterprise’ customer we can provide your data on removable storage or contact us to enquire about or professional restore service.
I already use an ‘Online backup’ provider, why change to Ironcore?

Why should I use Ironcore instead of CD’s, Tapes, and Removable Hard Drives?
For many reasons, primarily, the total cost of protecting your business data is far less than traditional methods, when you take into consideration all the factors such as storage, management and recovery.
Ironcore is fully automated and there is no need to manage your backup media. It is also more secure and reliable. In some cases however, we will recommend archiving old data onto CD/DVD and using Ironcore for current business data.
We use Apple Mac’s, can I use Ironcore?
Yes, Ironcore will run on most platforms – please contact us if you require Ironcore for Apple computers, Linux, UNIX, Sun, Novell
Who is behind Ironcore and what resources do they have?
Ironcore is a Seriun Limited brand. Seriun provide I.T services to business and are specialists in many technical areas, including Disaster Recovery, Data Protection and Security. We have invested in our own infrastructure. ‘The core’ is our dedicated datacenter, managed exclusively by Seriun.

I am a home user can I still use Ironcore?
Yes you could use our SOHO products, however if you do not have frequently changing data then CD/DVD’s should be sufficient.
I don’t believe I need to backup.

I backup my information once a week/month, why change?
It is recommended to backup your data on a frequent basis. One day’s work may well cost you more than one month’s Ironcore fee? You may also overwrite your backup file – Ironcore allows you to retain your previous versions (Default of a week) so you can go back in time if need be.
